The Easiest Way to Eradicate Prostate Cancer is by Laparoscopic Prostatectomy

Laparoscopic prostatectomy is the slightest invasive surgical treatment for curing prostate cancer. It requires only small cuts to eradicate the whole prostate. There are quite a number of advantages that are related to laparoscopic prostatectomy. Significantly less bleeding, less period under medication after the surgery, duration of stay in hospital is less, back to normal life activities within two weeks duration, all these and much more are the advantages that are related with laparoscopic prostatectomy. The operation lasts for almost 2 ½ – 3 ½ hours almost. The time varies on the basis of the size of the prostate and also on individual anatomy. Majority of the patients are discharged within a day’s time after the operation. But the discharge time varies from patient to patient. Majority of the patients regain their normal stage within two days. If the surgery is open surgery then the catheter is suggested to be removed after two weeks of time. But if the surgery is laparoscopic prostatectomy then the catheter is removed almost within seven days after the patient is operated. The patient is examined under x-ray so as to check the condition of the place where the bladder is connected with the urethra. Blood loss in this operation is quite nominal approximately 150cc. Risks of blood transfusion are very rare in this case. Every effort is made in this operation to spare the nerves that are highly responsible for responding sensually. One of the important advantages of this type of operation is, during operation the places can be magnified and the nerves that are responsible for reacting sensually can be saved easily.
